As far as I know this contains most of the extras from the UK dvd set. Hellraiser 3 should at the least be the hybrid cut too but I haven't checked yet.

Just thought you guys should get a heads up, especially since this is region free!

Very cool. I bought Umbrella's "Night of the Living Dead" BD three weeks ago from ebay.au and it still hasn't arrived. As long as I get that within the next week, I may consider getting this. Thanks for the heads up ZD.

Is that rating logo a sticker or actually printed on the case?

Front is a sticker. Side and back it's printed on.

I ordered Umbrella's "Night of the Living Dead" from eBay.au. That was three weeks ago and I'm still waiting to receive it. The seller told me that Australia's post office runs slow and doesn't work weekends. We'll see.

buck, where are you? Seller is full of bull, FWIW. They don't deliver on weekends, and most POs are closed, but not working on weekends? Please! Three weeks to the US is not unusual. It's certainly not the four or more I used to endure the other way around!!

i've already got the AB hellraiser BD, and the anniversary edition dvd of hellbound. i can do without hellbound on BD, but this is making me hopeful that hellraiser III will end up as a solo BD. i would definitely pick that up!

Cool cover. I assume all the content is the same though.
This might be their bait to get you to buy the set. One would think that it would get a solo release though.

I'm happy to say that my "Night of the Living Dead" bd from Umbrella arrived safely today. My first experience with eBay.au has been a pleasant one despite the three week wait. For those interested, it appears to feature the Weinstein transfer (same as the Happinet bd). What's unique about it is an 80 minute documentary I've never seen before called "Reflections on the Living Dead." It was filmed in the early nineties, and features a round table discussion with Romero, Hardman, Russo and Streiner. It also features Judith O'Dea and Marilyn Eastman as well as Wes Craven, John Landis, Tobe Hooper and Sam Raimi. I must say it's quite good and a welcome addition to my collection.

So I finally sat down and watched Hellbound: Hellraiser II on blu and was surprised at how shit it looked. Does the US release look shitty too?

Some shots looked alright but most were shrouded in heavy grain and had little detail in them. I also swear some shots were more washed out in colour than my dvd release. I was definitely disappointed in the look of this one. Any idea if the film might get another restoration job soon? I know a lot of films are started to get 4K masters now like TCM so my fingers are crossed that Hellraiser II will get some sort of restoration like that.

I'm hoping Shout can work something out as they did with the Halloween series to get a complete box set released, though I'm not sure if there's enough demand for it. The U.S. Blu-ray isn't great. Here's a detailed review courtesy of bluray.com:

"The AVC encoded image (1.78:1 aspect ratio, 1080p) presentation for "Hellbound" is sure to disappoint "Hellraiser" fans. Lacking an extensive remastering for its release on Blu-ray, the image frankly leaves much to be desired, supplying softness throughout, lacking a certain textural heft associated with the format and the genre. Crush is a major concern, turning dense hairstyles and costuming into black blobs, while darker sequences are difficult to make out. There's heavy grain throughout the presentation, swallowing a few scenes, encouraging a lot of mosquito noise, losing its cinematic feel. Colors are pronounced, especially blood reds, which look spectacular here, stable and vivid, while the darker blues and greens also make their intended macabre impression. Skintones run a little hot at times but remain in solid condition. Detail isn't the strongest, helpful for intense close-ups and make-up work, but it's not a crisp, clean viewing experience, also plagued by numerous print defects."
