I will be trimming my DVD collection by at least another 100 in the not too distant future. Most of my purchases from here on out will be blu only and I am much more selective with what I purchase now as opposed to when I started my DVD collection. If I had never sold any over the years I'd easily have over 1,000.

I will definitely hold onto obscure and cult titles that either won't hit blu-ray at all (most likely) or have yet to be announced.

Blu-ray players are getting cheaper by the day. I think DVD has one foot in the grave already when you consider the resale value of most titles.

    575 - DVD
    12 - Blus
    20 - Wii games
    12 - PS3 games

I've really slowed down recently. I only buy selective Blus now. I haven't purchased a DVD in like 2 months.

I'm actually a real oddity. I have about 300 VHS still and about 142 LD, most with rot and I don't have a player anymore, but I'm still holding onto them because a lot of them are concert and some of those Neil Diamond and James Taylor concerts are still worth money...

    DVD's, for example:

    Flash Gordon
    Dune
I, Claudius (its a set, count it as one)
    Blood Feast
    Two Thousand Maniacs
    Color Me Blood Red
Once Upon a Time in the West
    Taste of Blood
    Wizard of Gore
    Gore Gore Girls
    Cannibal Holocaust
    Blue Velvet
    I Drink Your Blood
    The Hidden
    Super Fuzz

    DVDS = 2500
    Blu Rays = 75

They will find me one day buried under them after my fricking shelves collapse!

    DVDs - 1,200 or so
    VHS - 470

Like Stige, I built my own floor-to-ceiling shelves that cover a lot of wall but don't take up very much space. It started to get expensive buying pre-made shelving.

I stopped keeping track around 2,000 DVDs, although a few of those include television series. I refuse to invest in Blu-Ray at the moment, but I might change my mind eventually.

1527 DVD is my current DVDProfiler count. This is just the number of titles. DVD sets (like the Mill Creek 50 packs or any other multi-movie packs) are only counted as 1 title so in actuality, probably 2000 - 2100 different movies. Maybe more. No Blu/HD

I have around 1000 DVD "sets" (like for example a box set with a bunch of movies only counts as 1). I have about 25 Blu Ray movies currently too. I've slowed way down since Deep Discount went to shit.

Same here, I count the "sets" as one title each.

I think I counted the sets as one if the movies were all packaged together, but if it's just 3 DVDs with their own plastic cases in a cardboard case then I didn't - assuming I was consistent, which is anybody's guess :)

I count separate DVDs in a box set as separate. Those DVDs with 50 obscure movies from the 70s on one disc, on the other hand, I don't count as separate.

I'm in the process of building a database file of all my movies so I'll post some more exact numbers whenever the hell I get that finished. I've just finished cataloging the VHS the other night, and so far just there I have around 300 VHS. On to cataloging the DVDs, Blu-rays, and films and trailers next!
