Been wanting to see Come and See for some time now but when I finally went to buy it a few weeks ago no one had it in stock until I found it at Grindhouse Video, it was in stock when I bought it but now it's sold out there too and I'm starting to wonder if maybe it wasn't really in stock when I ordered since it's been over a week and it still hasn't been shipped.

I've ordered it from the Canadian ebay seller now, to be fair it seems fairly reasonably priced considering it's out of stock everywhere else.

Only seen it once before and that was from the old 2 disc DVD set... I didn't realise they'd split the movie over the 2 discs and loaded it up in the dark from the right side disc as you normally would. Ended up watching the entire second half of the movie before realising, then went back to the other disc to watch the first half, haha. :D So looking forward to watching it properly for the first time.

Got the Come and See Criterion disc from the Canadian ebay seller today. It was actually shipped from "WowHD" and had their receipt inside the package, so it seems they have stock. If you're in the EU or Australia would be cheaper and quicker to order direct from them.

$56.25 on the last Barnes & Noble 50% off Criterion sale + my extra 10% member discount. I doubt it'll get any cheaper than that, new at least.

That's an accurate assessment. I watched it last night, and while it is extremely bleak, it's not the harshest WWII film I've ever seen.

I ticked two more off my want list, Smithereens and Mystery Train.
Wanted to get a horror movie to qualify for free shipping, and I've been holding out on getting Videodrome. Was going to pull the trigger on it today, but it's out of stock. Called an audible and got The Blob instead.

You could always get Arrow’s edition of Videodrome now since most places are having a sale right now. You can get it at Zavvi for 2/£15.

Ah, there will be Criterion sales in the future.

I definitely want Amores Perros, but the Criterion flash sales like this one don't include pre-orders. I usually find two movies I want at these sales, but I need a third to get free shipping, so it's good to keep a few "wants" always open so you can throw it in to get the free shipping.

The Barnes & Noble Criterion sale is underway, again, but I'd doublecheck Amazon before making any final purchasing decisions.

I wound up saving a little over $23 buying the Ingmar Bergman box through Amazon, because it's not eligible for free shipping through B&N and there was an extra $18.00 coupon on Amazon.

"The most dazzling debut in cinema history, Orson Welles’s Citizen Kane was Criterion’s first laserdisc release 37 years ago. It now rejoins the library after a long absence, making its first appearance in 4K Ultra HD."

I wish they still had the rights to The Killer and Hardboiled. Would kill for UHD:s of those two.

It's insane to think it took Criterion this long to start doing UHD releases.

Even a Criterion Blu-ray of the Killer would be great. I still have the Criterion DVD I got way back when it was released and every few years I search for any blu-ray versions but everything I've read says all the Blu-ray releases suck in one way or another and that old Criterion DVD is still the best version available on any format. The Criterion DVD still goes for like $100 to $200 on ebay.

^ How are parts 4 and 5? I don't think I ever saw them. In fact I did not know the series went that far.
