Not a fan of Mutant. Found it to be really boring.

I've never seen Deadly Dreams but I've read it's not very good. I am curious to check Mutant out though.

If you enjoy Juliette Cummins and shirtless male leads walking about, it's a fair dip. Fun ending too!

Considering I had to look her up to find out what she looks like is already a bad sign :p If topless males is the only other thing this has to offer then it sounds like it's not even worth a download.

"Shirtless male lead" is the only thing I remember about DEADLY DREAMS. It's dull and stupid with much of the run-time devoted to a sweaty shirtless dude writhing on a bed screaming. If you're like me and look forward to seeing Juliette Cummins nude, this film is not for you. DEADLY DREAMS was not made for straight dudes.

She was nude in it, at least she is on the Virgin VHS I own. If you watched it on YouTube or something, they might have had to take it out.

The trailer for Deadly Dreams makes it look like a ripoff of NOES 2: Freddy's Revenge, with the male lead having sweaty nightmares about a vicious killer and spending more time with his buddy than his girlfriend. (Though I bet DD doesn't have a great disco-fueled room cleaning/pop-gun orgasm scene. :D) Looks like they'd make a perfect double feature for a gay horror night. Interestingly, DD star Mitchell Anderson came out as gay back in the 90s just like Freddy star Mark Patton. Kind of begs the question: Would these movies be as gay without gay male leads? Gotta go with yes.

Hide and go Shriek, Mutant, AND One Dark Night from CR.....grr.. I always worry about quality , when and if it will come and so on.

Do Screen Archives or Diabolik usually get every code red blu release, or am I going to jump through hoops pay through the nose ( It will be the case either way)?

'Hide and go Shriek' and 'One Dark Night' are definitely not "bucket list". Both day 1 releases for me...if available at SAE or Diabolik.

I would think those should be available at Screen Archives. It seems like only the more "obscure" releases show up in his Bigcartel store anymore. Diabolik might possibly get them later on, but I don't think they really stock the Screen Archives exclusives from Code Red.

I'm definitely excited for all three, and hope they're solid improvements over the old DVD releases.

I'll be most interested to see how Hide and Go Shriek looks in HD. The film was shot "dark" with hardly any extra lights, so it's always going to be a pretty dark film in many scenes.... but hopefully the increased resolution will help.

I've wanted them all for a long time myself, so I'll just pay whatever it takes and hope and pray for the best. Just would have prefered another company ( not VCI of course, but...)

If you look under Bill's post for One Dark Night you'll see a reply from none other than Tom McLoughlin. He seems genuinely excited and offered to contribute something if Bill gets in touch. Social media can suck in a lot of ways, but that's not one of them. It's fun buying Code Red stuff, but some of the movies really are bad. I'll pay for only so many like The People Who Own the Dark before I get weary of his stuff. It's nice that CR is releasing some sure things (that's to say movies I know I enjoy) like this, Opera, and Hide and Go Shriek.
