Unless they totally F it up (still possible), this will likely go down as my second favorite season behind Hotel.

    Fucking stupid.

I watched the first 4 episodes or so.....then the final 30 mins of the finale tonight. I liked bits of the first couple episodes.....some really funny moments. The wedding......the kid dealing with gay porn drama.....the bro with the huge cock. Fun enough. But just like any other show.......too much fucking time to fill. I was done when they had like 6 twists thrown at ya.

There's a reason why 80s slashers work. They're 90 mins of awesome. Beginning, middle and end. Here you got 9 episodes of what, 45ish minutes each?....6-7 hours of a slasher?!? Fuck outa here.

I just can't do it. I tried watching the Ash vs Evil Dead show.....pretty good first episode.....then I reminded myself I have 28 more of these fucking left before they wrap this shit up. No thanks.

The problem with Ash vs. Evil Dead is that there's ONLY 28 more episodes.

I loved the finale. They should have just gone from 1984 to 2019 and skipped the whole 1989 chunk. Fun season though!

Didn't like the finale at all, but overall it was a good season.

Loved the 1984 part of the season.
Didn't like the "regenerating camp" motif at the end, and the build up to a concert that never even happened.

My thoughts exactly. Episodes 1-5 & 9 are great. 6-8 wallowed.

Sounds like we have a whole lot of American Horror Story on the way to make up for its absence last year.

The new episodic anthology spin-off American Horror Stories will premiere July 15th on Hulu.

Then the new season American Horror Story: Double Feature (Season 10) will premiere August 25th on FX.

Im wanting to see the Provincetown episodes. Maybe they will have Miss Richfield 1981 kill a few vampires with her musical saw.

I'm looking forward to that as well. I meant to head up there to watch some of the filming, but never made it.

First two episodes of AMERICAN HORROR STORIES are up on Hulu.

Just finished the first, but it's a two-parter about a new family who moves into the Murder House from season 1.

The new season of the original show just started last week. From what I saw it was pretty good. I'll watch the whole thing in October.

First half of Double Feature wrapped up tonight. They usually have a little trouble sustaining an entire season, but this couldn't even sustain half of one. I was bored. Hopefully the second half of the season is an improvement.

I'll skip the first "feature", and check out the next one instead.

I didn't watch last night's "finale" yet, but the pace has indeed slowed to glacier-like. And for some reason, the episodes have gotten longer, too. Last week's ran a full 90 minutes, despite there only being 20 or so minutes of relevant material.

I liked the premise, very King-like (not just the New England setting), but of the family and the child is neither cannon fodder nor particularly evil. Just a real element of the story, and a dark element at that. The child gets corrupted just as easily as the adults.

But then they showed us "how the sausage is made", with an entire episode that de-mystifies the concept of the Muse pill.

Where I think they screwed up was in brushing off the snuff film making Maynard and Zed characters. That was a great side plot that should have gotten a whole episode instead of the 5 minute aside. Harry should have been imprisoned by the couple for a whole episode, along with what they planned to do to him (like, they already mentioned a sexual act I could have gone the rest of my life not knowing about) then having him escape at the very end and kill his captors. Real missed opportunity there.

And of course I posted that BEFORE seeing the episode, and the child is totally evil. Also weird coincidence that I used the phrase "How the sausage is made" and that was actually said by one of the characters.

Other than that, dull dull dull.

If you still have time to bail on this plan, then do so. "Death Valley" easily became my least favorite season (or half-season in this case) of AHS, and it's not even close. This was absolutely pathetic, and the closest I came to stopping a season midway through. In fact I was going to do just that, then I found out there was only one more episode left so I toughed it out for one terrible waste of an hour of my life.

Kaia Gerber though, is awfully pretty as well as an awful actress. It's almost like both of those characteristics were genetic...

I probably preferred the Death Valley half simply for its weirdness, but it ultimately went nowhere. So I'd agree the entire season was a bust.

On the other hand, I'm loving Ryan Murphy's Impeachment: American Crime Story, also currently airing on FX. Murphy's too messy when it comes to horror, but when it comes to stuff like Feud or American Crime Story, he does his best work.
