Has anyone seen this movie? Here's the IMDb link:

sounds like it could be good. I heard about it from a friend of mine who's uncle is the producer, and we've been trying to find copies, but to no such luck.

I'm kind of shocked there's been no post at all for this one since 2003, especially since it does have a small cult following. The DVD came out in 2008, and I first experienced the film back then.

I recently revisited the DVD... and wow, it's even more terrible and more enjoyable seeing it again all these years later. I also listened to the commentary this time around which was an equal hoot to listen in on.

For anyone who has never experienced Winterbeast, this is a great primer (And not a single person comments on the dildo in the box) for it: http://www.triskaidekafiles.com/reviews/2016/12/1/winterbeast-1992 and Bleeding Skull's take on it: http://bleedingskull.com/beast-and-desist-an-appreciation-of-winterbeast/

Shot in 1985/1986, the original "debut" VHS from 1992 sells for expensive sums on ebay, and the 2008 DVD "Special Edition" has since gone OOP (although DVD-R bootlegs abound on ebay). I can't really see it ever coming to Blu-ray beyond a poor upconversion, as it was sourced together from various film elements and edited/finished on video.

...and to think they went into it aiming to make a serious horror film! o_O

Hmm, wasn't even aware of that. It's coincidence, or else Winterbeast is just permeating the air! :D

I totally get that, but for me it's not on par with Birdemic or Troll II, where it's so bad it's fun. Winter Beast just bored me.
