I'm all about '90s direct-to-video horror, but XTRO 3 was a bit dull even for me.

That's discouraging. I'll be checking it out this weekend and was hoping it would be a lot better than 2, which was a complete chore to sit through.

Actually, there's more than just 50% off the erotica - there's gonna be a couple new pre-orders with the two new Peekarama titles, as well as the first VSA release of 2020.

Never seen it, but I do recall XTRO 2 not coming close to the original so I never went into 3.

    I never saw XTRO 2.

This was kind of a low-rent version of Predator or Dog Soldiers.

March titles revealed (top 3) as well as the two new Peekarama releases and VSA (bottom 3), all available now for pre-order. If you're a yearly subscriber, take special note about the notice on Malabimba depending on which version of the subscription package you went with.

    DEADLINE

This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to 2,000 units and is only available here at VinegarSyndrome.com!

Steven Lessey (Stephen Young; Soylent Green, Patton) makes his living as a horror writer who has learned that the bloodier the story, the bigger the market. But Steven has also hit a personal crisis wherein he yearns for artistic recognition and an escape from the brutality he conjures up to earn a living. All the while, his horrifying and murderous fantasies begin to blend into his day-to-day life, numbing him to his crumbling marriage, until a shocking tragedy occurs, from which he has no escape...

One of the true hidden gems of Canadian horror cinema, Mario Azzopardi’s DEADLINE is an unflinchingly grim, twisted, and cynically comedic study of a man’s slow descent into madness, punctuated by expertly rendered and creatively staged gory deaths. Featuring elegant and colorful cinematography by Fred Guthe (The Pit), tightly paced editing, and even a surprise musical sequence featuring acclaimed New Wave band, Rough Trade, Vinegar Syndrome proudly brings this gruesome masterpiece to Blu-ray for the first time, newly restored from 35mm vault elements.

    Directed by: Mario Azzopardi
Starring: Stephen Young, Sharon Masters, Marvin Goldhar, Jeannie Elias, Cindy Hinds
    1980 / 90 min / 1.85:1

    Special features:
    • Region Free Blu-ray/DVD combo
    • Newly scanned & restored in 2k from 35mm vault elements
    • “Producing Something Horrific” - an interview with producer Henry Less

    MALABIMBA

This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to 2,000 units and is only available here at VinegarSyndrome.com!

Notice to yearly subscribers: Malabimba is not included in the Horror/Exploitation version (it's in the Completionist version!). You can purchase it separately and have it packaged with your next shipment by selecting the 'I'm a subscriber, ship with my next package' free shipping option at checkout.

Bimba (Katell Laennec) lives in a gothic castle with her parents. However, when her mother dies under mysterious circumstances while involved in a seance, Bimba begins acting in increasingly strange and perverted ways. With her father at a loss for what to do, he invites a beautiful nun into the castle to try and get her under control. However the sister soon suspects that Bimba has become possessed by an insatiable, sex starved demon which will stop at nothing, including murder, to fulfill its depraved and unholy desires.

From the warped and deranged mind of one of Italy’s foremost purveyors of top quality sleaze, Andrea Bianchi (Burial Ground, Strip Nude for Your Killer), comes one of the most shocking and blasphemous pieces of sexploitation cinema ever made: MALABIMBA. Co-starring Giancarlo Del Duca (Giallo A Venezia), Patricia Webley (Play Motel), and Mariangela Girodano (Patrick Still Lives), Vinegar Syndrome is proud to give this notorious, hardcore Exorcist riff its worldwide Blu-ray debut, newly restored in 2K from its original 16mm camera negative and presented here in its fully uncut and uncensored, 100 minute version.

    Directed by: Andrea Bianchi
Starring: Katell Laennec, Enzo Fisichella, Patrizia Webley, Giuseppe Marrocco, Elisa Mainardi
    1979 / 100 min / 1.85:1

    OLIVIA

This special limited edition embossed slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to 2,000 units and is only available here at VinegarSyndrome.com!

When she was a child, Olivia (Suzanna Love) witnessed the horrifying and violent murder of her prostitute mother at the hands of an angry John. Now an adult, she's married to an abusive and controlling factory worker, that is, until her mother appears to her and demands that Olivia avenge her death by seducing and then slaying men. While disposing of a body near the London Bridge, Olivia has a chance meeting with a friendly American named Mike (Robert Walker Jr) who reveals that he’s visiting England in order to dismantle and move the bridge to Arizona, setting off a series of increasingly strange events, and a lot more bloodshed…

Perhaps the most offbeat film in the fascinating career of German actor turned exploitation auteur, Ulli Lommel (Tenderness of the Wolves, The Boogeyman) OLIVIA (also known as Prozzie and Double Jeopardy) finds a distinctive blend of slasher, erotic thriller, and straight forward sleaze, seasoned with touches of semi-surrealism. Atmospherically photographed and featuring a moody score by Joel Goldsmith (Man’s Best Friend), Vinegar Syndrome brings this nearly unclassifiable piece of early 80s genre weirdness to Blu-ray, newly restored in 4K from its original 35mm camera negative and presented in its completely uncensored version for the first time on disc.

    Directed by: Ulli Lommel
Starring: Suzanna Love, Robert Walker Jr., Jeff Winchester, Ulli Lommel
    1981 / 85 min / 1.85:1

    HELL RIDERS (VSA)

The 'Hell Riders' are the most vicious members of a southern California biker gang; so extreme in their activities that they've been pushed out of their gang and are now on their own, roaming the countryside on the lookout for people to terrorize. After attacking a stranded woman, who manages to escape to a nearby town, the Hell Riders decide to pursue her, eventually ending up in the town as well and begin violently taking out anyone who has the misfortune of ending up in their bloodthirsty path.

A spectacularly trashy and weird 80s biker film from the exploitation dream team of James Bryan (Don't Go in the Woods, Executioner Part 2) and Renee Harmon (Frozen Scream, Escape From the Insane Asylum), HELL RIDERS is loaded to the gills with jaw dropping, head scratching, and mind numbing thrills. Featuring Adam West (Batman) and Tina Louise (Gilligan's Island) and co-produced by exploitation legend Lee Frost (A Climax of Blue Power), Vinegar Syndrome Archive proudly presents the world disc debut of HELL RIDERS, newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative.

    directed by: James Bryan
starring: Adam West, Tina Louise, Renee Harmon
    1984 / 88 min / 1.85:1

    Special features:
    • Region Free Blu-ray
    • Newly scanned & restored in 2k from its 35mm original camera negative
    • “Straight to Hell” - an interview with co-writer/director James Bryan

On an ever expanding quest to outdo his last orgy, the Peekarama invites you to indulge in two rarities from master smut peddler, Carlos Tobalina:

CARNAL HIGHWAYS (Directed by Carlos Tobalina)
    1979 | 80min | 1.85:1
Two friends have decided to take their lusty passions on the road, and to help them on their journey, purchase a big rig truck. They're soon inundated with more beautiful women than they can handle, including Seka, Brook West, and Juliet Anderson (Aunt Peg), and find themselves going from one sex filled adventure to the next, along the CARNAL HIGHWAYS.

CARNAL OLYMPICS (Directed by Carlos Tobalina)
    1983 | 83min | 1.85:1
Herschell Savage stars as a lecherous magazine publisher who's staged a phony contest to find the hottest sex film starlet, but actually intends to use the event to play out his own voyeuristic fantasies. Little does he know that the joke will end up being on him...Featuring Gail Sterling and Lynx Canon, CARNAL OLYMPICS is an orgiastic delight, in classic Carlos Tobalina fashion.

PEEKARAMA (FRANKIE & JOHNIE WERE LOVERS/THE MISLAYED GENIE)

Rene Bond was one of the most popular, versatile, and talented actresses of the early hardcore era. Presented here are two Rene rarities from 1973!

FRANKIE & JOHNNIE WERE LOVERS (Directed by Alan Colberg)
    1973 | 76min | 1.85:1

Inspired by the classic folk song, director Alan Colberg's contemporary reimagining of the great American love tragedy follows the tumultuous romance of Frankie (Bond), a successful singer, and Johnnie, her computer whiz, race car loving beau (Rick Lutze), who can't keep his hands off beautiful Mary Bly (Cyndee Summers). Action and eroticism packed, Peekarama presents Frankie & Johnnie Were Lovers in its never on home video hardcore version.

THE MISLAYED GENIE (Directed by Eric Jeffrey Haims)
    1973 | 93min | 1.85:1

After accidentally summoning up a genie (played by cult character actor Tobar Mayo), a sex-starved young man finds all of his erotic wishes can come true, but soon finds himself embroiled in time hopping orgies, gangster schemes, and other uproarious happenings, all while trying to score the girl of his dreams. Rene Bond co-stars as a sex-ed teacher whose students take 'family planning' a bit too literally in this never released on English language home video, sexploitation rarity.

    Combined cast:
Rene Bond, Ric Lutze, Ann Ali, Con Covert

    Special features:
    • Region Free DVD
    • Newly scanned & restored in 2k from 35mm and 16mm archival elements
    • Promotional image gallery for FRANKIE

To any of the VS yearly subscribers: How many blu-ray titles do you typically get per year? So far there has only been two releases each for the first three months. At that rate it will work out to over $25.00 a title which is higher than just buying the titles you actually want. Just curious as this is my first year subscribing.

There's two subscription tiers: Completionist or Horror/Exploitation only. So depends which of those two you're a yearly subscriber of. Based on last year's package, if you were a H/E subscriber only there was 38 releases (45 titles) and if a Completionist you got 47 releases (55 titles). The VSA titles and Peekrama titles are not included in either subscription, but yearly subscirbers are always sent coupons for those so we do save more on those if we decide to purchase and add them to our free shipped monthly packages (for instance, we got coupon codes for $5 off each of those new titles for this V-Day sale).

If you want a full break down of subscriber packages/savings vs. being a standard customer I did a breakdown based on last year's packages a couple pages back in this thread: http://horrordvds.com/community/threads/vinegar-syndrome-new-genre-label.44094/page-129#post-864561

But also, as a subscriber you're paying for the projected year's output - so if the releases planned don't all come out, you'll get a coupon code to put towards renewing or option for a refund of the difference.

I hit up the sale and just bought Vice Academy 1-3. They're goofy/sleazy comedies with Linnea Quigley and Ginger Lynn, and the price isn't bad at all.

Not sure I'll bite on anything during this sale. Not interested in the Peekarama or other adult titles and I'm not sure Hell Riders is compelling enough for a blind buy. Has anyone seen it? I couldn't find a trailer.

I have it on VHS, so I upgraded, but it's a dumb-but-fun enough late entry biker exploitation flick with an out of place Adam West. If you're a fan of James Bryan (Don't Go In the Woods, The Executioner Part II) and Renee Harmon (Lady Street Fighter, Frozen Scream), or the other VSA releases, you'll enjoy it.

    Here's an extended clip:

I'm not into biker flicks unless there's a guy and two robot sidekicks in the front row making fun of it.

I haven't seen Hell Riders, but I ordered it based on the strength of VSA's Savage Dawn, which was great fun.

Good lord, it looks like the biker gang from Pee Wee's Big Adventure got their own movie! When they pulled that kid up on the bar I fully expected Tequila to start playing! I ended up pulling the trigger on this the last few minutes of the sale this weekend and now I'm glad I did.
