Showtime is currently airing the "gore version" of Tammy.

Yeah, it's crazy, and Denise Richards is really hot, but there's no reason I'd want this movie in my collection.

Showtime must have a partnership with VS; They're also running Cutting Class in rotation, and afterwards the Vinegar Syndrome logo and "bow-chicka-wow-wow" tune is played)

Yeah I agree. I've watched an hour of it and it was only mindly entertaining to me.

If it were the '90s, you'd be seeing Tammy & The T-Rex on the USA network daily. Only minus the gore.

They also played Ticks and The Paperboy constantly. It was perfect.

You know what would be perfect? If someone would give Ticks the special edition treatment it deserves. You know Panic is down for some interviews and what not......Alfonso dont say no to a paycheck!

As someone in the US who has never bought a British videotape, should I be interested in the 2+ hour VIPCO documentary included on the Spookies blu-ray? Is it worth the time?

I haven't checked it out yet (I do still plan to) but have heard a few comments from people who have watched it from the VS Facebook group that it isn't the best put-together or structured and runs much longer than it needs to.

A couple comments from the group about it to give you an idea:

"...do we really need an hour of VHS collectors saying the same things about bad quality masters, Michael Lee not understanding DVD, and their long-winded and irrelevant experiences with video nasties?"

"It's not really well put together with much rhyme or reason. One interview[ee] is talking at length about one subject, but the next cut is to someone else talking about something entirely different. It feels more like watching someone's assembly of what clips they want to use for a documentary than a finished product. I'm assuming this was the only way VS could get an interview with the infamous Michael Lee included. And it is indeed worth slogging through to hear him speak and get a better idea of what type of person he is. But the other subjects... wow. You'll spend more time looking at the shelves in the background of their shots."

"I was expecting a more traditional doc on VIPCO but it was just random people (talking heads, no less) musing about the glory days of bootleg VHS."

So if you have no interest in VHS collection, bootlegs, VIPCO or it's founder Michael Lee, then I'd say no.

    From their newsletter:

As they say, there's no rest for the wicked, so we've been up around the clock rounding up new titles, including a just-signed, though months in the making license for some bloody south-of-the-border treats that'll be making their way into your collection later this year.

Potentially some titles from that old BCI set? Don't Panic, Hell's Trap, Cemetery Of Terror, Grave Robbers, etc?

That definitely sounds for me, who lives in the UK, VIPCO, and video nasties were a big thing former growing up, this doc and the comprehensive making of spookies are the reason I'm thinking of buying this, cause spookies as a movie ain't that great.

Hopefully some of the old BCI titles. The first volume of that Crypt of Terror: South of the Border DVD set goes for just north of $100 on Ebay.

However, 'south of the border' could also mean South America. Brazil has a good number of really whacked-out horror/sleaze titles that I would love to see get the VS treatment. Just look up Reincarnation of Sex aka A Reencarnacao do Sexo (1982) to get a glimpse of the possibilities.

Another Mexploitation flick I would love to see officially get released would be Intrepidos punks (1988) - it deserves the VS treatment! So fingers crossed this may potentially be one of those titles!

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the older vampire or Santo films. Most are only available on low quality DVD or not at all.
