Because of all the voting on and off of the same films. Films that are voted back on will be subject to a poll to determine whether or not they should stay or leave for good. If the majority feel this the film should be in the top 100 then you can no longer vote it off and if they don't agree it's in the top 100 it will be taking off the list and you can no longer vote it on.

The fifth film up is The Lost Boys
The poll will be over Tue at 10:30am

I'm going to have to say not. It's a fun film but ultimately too much fluff.

I am going with yes as it is very good and really is a perfect time capsule of that whole era. Plus, the soundtrack is epic and the cool quotient is just off the charts. There's nothing not good about it.

    2 Coreys + Kiefer + Jami Gertz + Band of 80s metal looking dudes + Vampires + Edward Herrmann = A Winner!

Maggots, Michael. You're eating maggots. How do they taste?

It's a fun watch, but not top 100 material.

Against my unabashed love for The Lost Boys, I was going to say "not in" until I read onebyone's post. It is a perfect time capsule of a horror film, and it is so cool. It's a cool movie. Kiefer is cool; his whole vamp-gang is cool on their dirt bikes (so cool in the 80s) with their mullets. Nowadays, in my viewings, it seems rare for a horror film to tap into contemporary trends without attempting to sell them or mock them. The wave of Scream knockoffs, for example, reeked of disdain, a hipper-than-thou smugness.

The Lost Boys succeeded in making me want to be a bad guy, and it succeeded in tapping into a certain coolness. Is it an important horror film? Probably not capital I important. But it's been around for 20 years, and I bet it will be around for another 20. In the supplemental material for the new DVD, Kiefer says that it's still his most recognizable role. It worked and still does. There is certainly fluff, and I'm still not sure what the deal is with Laddie, but it's weird, disturbing (Corey Haim with a Rob Lowe poster?), bloody, and funny.

    I'm going with "in."

Holy shit! The attack of Eddie Munster!

That's a big "NO" from me. I can see the charm in The Lost Boys, but I simply can't stand how easy it is to knock these Vamps off.

Oh yeah, Haim's character is obviously latently gay. The Lowe poster is but one hint out of many in the movie.

In. Oh yes it's in. I'm going to let 1x1 speak for me on this one except that Jason Patric deserves mention too.

....I had such a crush on Jami Gertz after watching this movie.

Everyone has good points. Time capsule, easy to kill vampires.
I have to think a bit more on this. It's definitly a classic movie, but is it horror?

The line that always gets me is the bizarre "Where's Star, David? Where's Star, David?" Odd juxtaposition, right? Star of David?

A very fun and watchable movie. The best Feldman/Haim team up. It should be in!

This is also a close one. 2hrs and 20 minutes left to vote.

    New Rule****

If one of these polls end up in a tie, the film makes the top 100.

It's definitely a fun film to watch but it doesn't belong in the top 100. So no.
