Not the William Wyler film. I saw some TV spots for this while watching wrestling the other night. It doesn't look like the most inspired bit of filmmaking, and the whole "From the writers of various Saw sequels" thing is the opposite of a selling point for me. Still, it seems like it could be a fun time at the cinema in spite of that. It also has an interesting look to it. In the sea of nothingness that has been this summer's film schedule, I'll take any excuse to head out to the theater. It's not exactly The Hurt Locker, but here's to hoping for a pleasant little diversion.
Yeah, this looked a little schlocky. I am impressed that they can continue to think of new torture scenarios, however. What must that brainstorming session be like?
A flowchart that contains the following words: Extreme violence Rape Blood Screaming Nudity Dismemberment (including genitals) Unconventional weaponry Character traits: Annoying, Unsympathetic, Stupid Bad guy with bs motivation No plot necessary Excessive flashbacks to give facade of a story MOST IMPORTANT THING - Twist ending Connect the dots. We have a movie.
i'll go see this if it come here to my tinsletown i doubt it though is it getting a nationwide release???
This was originally supposed to be a SAW prequel, but considering how backwards looking the series has been since the third film, there really was no point in releasing it as such. For me the SAWs intrigue because of the Jigsaw character and his mythos, but it is written by the FEAST guys and the guys who basically saved the SAW series, so I'm certainly open to checking it out somewhere down the line.
same here i doubt it will come to my tinsletown i'll probably just have to wait for dvd also i hope zombieland comes to my theater i want to see that one
Amazingly, I'm actually interested in seeing this. I could care less if it does or doesn't have anything to do with Saw since I'm not a fan of the series, it just seems to have caught my eye. My only concern is if there's any CGI and if there is, how much?
Its the trend of the deacade, look at the trends the 70's and 80's had!!: SexPloitation NaziPloitation BlackPloitation Giallos NunsPloitation ActionsPloitation and SO much more!!!
So what's the word on this movie? Is it more torture porn? The commercials make it look like a suspense/thriller. But "from the writers of Saw 4, 5 & 6" just screams "torture porn".
They had to cut the movie to get an R-Rating according to the bloody-disgusting interview. Looks and sounds kind of interesting. Might have to check it out.
Man, Lionsgate dropped the ball with this one. Only 1,325 theaters, and in my case not even a single screen in the 4th largest city in Canada. Doesn't look like I'll be seeing this anytime soon...
This is actually being distributed by Freestyle Releasing, the folks behind the US releases of Green Street Hooligans, An American Haunting, The Illusionist and Dragon Wars, to name a few. They've used Lionsgate to distribute some (but not all) of their home video releases though.
I stand corrected, thanks for that. I had just assumed, since it had the SAW stamp on it, that Lionsgate was behind it. It makes more sense now, although that still doesn't change the fact that I won't get to see it in theaters.
