I haven't watched the blu yet I just skipped it and I was pretty impressed with the transfer. I can't see a title like this getting any kind of remaster if it was released in the US. I think If it was released you'd get the same print.

I have to say Germany is definitely a market to watch, they do seem to hsve a lot of genre stuff released, and thankfully the state censor is becoming more lenient so most stuff is getting released uncut.

 

Yeah, Germany releases a lot of stuff not found elsewhere...or else they often release it first. And if it is a title that is "censored" in Germany, a lot of Austrian labels will release it uncut.

I don't really see Disney doing any new HD scan with older genre titles like Ghost in the Machine. They really don't seem to care much at all about their 20th Century Fox back catalog right now, even a lot of the US releases have gone OOP lately.

Would you mind posting your thoughts on this disc?

 

I've not watched the full movie yet but I've skipped through the disc, on the plus it's the full uncut version. As for the print, it's OK, nothing special, it looks a little drab and soft which suggests it could be an SD upconvert. If you have the DVD I wouldn't go out my way to get it, but if you don't have that it's a cheap (about 6 pound when I purchased it) and region free option.
