Kino recently announced that about 200-300 titles will soon go OOP "on moratorium" and will not be repressed, with the first batch of titles are here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=16887698&postcount=34997

I don't really see any in this first round listing that I either don't already own or have no interest in... but I'm sure there will be in the subsequent listings.

Yeah, I'm going to wait also. There are some titles on the sale that I want, but nothing desperately.

I already received Sudden Terror and And Soon the Darkness from Target just today as part of their B2G1 sale, and they were still a slightly better deal than on this Kino sale.

The day-for-night issues are FAR worse than what's suggested in those screenshots. The opening scene with the German family looks absolutely ridiculous. They're sleeping and talking about night, yet it's clearly broad daylight, closer to noon than dusk. Not only is the blue tint missing, Kino also neglected to print the day-for-night scenes darker--so all of the mood is lost and the film looks inappropriately inept. Billy the Kid Versus Dracula is hardly a classic, but I've always found it to be an enjoyable throwback brimming with goofy charm. Some of it is lost due to the carelessness of the transfer.

It's a damn shame because the scan looks mostly outstanding. Kino should be truly ashamed of themselves. ALL previous versions of this movie have featured extremely stylized blue tinting. It was there in the endless WOR and Creature Double Feature repeats, and it's there in the TCM version. It's ridiculous for Kino to pretentiously call themselves film preservationists while devoting this little care to quality control. Or maybe they just want to bump Severin off the bungled transfer mountain top?

^ Also, Modern Girls! I hate that it is going out of print because I will die if anything ever happens to my Modern Girls blu-ray! :(

You could always buy a backup copy. Not saying I've ever done that or might be planning to... ;)

Are the moratorium titles primarily from the MGM library? Just wondering since Scream/Shout is also letting a lot of their MGM titles go OOP. I assume with the Disney merger they have to renegotiate all their licenses?

No date announced but Kino posted this on Facebook this week. Can't wait to get this one! I only managed to see it once on TCM years ago. I've worked with Pat Cardi and he spoke very fondly of Mary Badham and their experience making this.

Killdozer! Another DVD to prep for it's final journey to the trash heaps. And a MOD at that.

Yes, I have also been intrigued by this movie. Sturgeon was quite a cerebral writer yet the content seems so cheezy.

Killdozer is awesome, I love it. If you like movies with plots similar to The Car then there's a lot to like here. Just keep in mind that it's a 70's low-budget TV film.

Clint Walker + Neville Brand + Robert Urich in the same movie is still more badass 99.5% of any movies though!

I can finally ditch the old MOD DVD-R thankfully. Hopefully the Blu-ray will have an Amanda Reyes audio commentary...
