Glad to hear it's getting some North American exposure soon. I've been looking forward to Dogtooth for quite some time.

I watched this on Netflix streaming and the movie is astonishing - I can't believe there are not more comments on it as it is destined to be a cult favorite. There are some incredibly disturbing scenes which some may laugh at but may make others cringe. The director really knows how to push buttons but it is never exploitative and ultimately it is a very serious movie without being pretentious. The performances and tone are spot on - somewhat reminiscent of Haneke. Plain and minimalist with some off-kilter compositions.

Again I am surprised this is not getting more attention especially since it is up for an Oscar (although it was mentioned on Ebert's At the Movies show this week). Very worthwhile watching for fans of serious but offbeat movies.

I really want to see this, but I'm waiting for the blu-ray release this March.

Looks like Kino is re-releasing Dogtooth on blu-ray, along with another Yorgos film Alps. Coming September 3rd.

I bought Kino's previous blu-ray... and never watched it. I do that a lot.

Mine is sitting on the dreaded unwatched pile...along with literally hundreds of other disks.

I'd like to think the watch rate meets or exceeds the add to the pile rate. I'd most likely be deluding myself.
