Really old news but truly exciting for me (and I hope your readers too) from Cliff at BCI:
    http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf...crown-international-releases.html#post2847873

That was in 2006, but here's the new news:
    http://monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com/reply/266077/t/Re-The-Creeping-Terror.html#reply-266077

So it is official that they found the negative, not too sure how official a 2008 release is though. Of all the crap out there this is one of my favorites, I even bought my first Famous Monsters of Filmland issue based solely on the fact that it had a major article on The Creeping Terror.

Yeah, this would be nice to have. IMDB offer up some very cool entertainment about this one:

    How thrilling is that?

    Then the trivia:

    And finally a readers review:

    A must buy then.

Maybe this forum should be re-named from "Classic" to "Old," 'cuz CT sure ain't a classic.

I can't imagine I'd ever want to bother watching it without Joel and the Bots.

It's amazing that this one hasn't been picked for a remake yet.
A CGI carpet would add so much depth.

Well, it's a better carpet than Night of the Big Heat with Cushing. Now, THAT'S a carpet.

It was a silly film, but I was still scared by the thing when I saw this on afternoon TV once.

I had the same experience when I was a kid. I was very disturbed by that scene of the nice lady being eaten.

Surprised it took this long to find the negative. It should have been obvious it was under the rug the whole time.

It's strangely compelling, perhaps because of how graphic it is? They show everything, there's tons of horrible screaming and it seems to take forever. It's also obviously sexual, watching a young girl's legs get sucked into an orifice.

It leaves its mark; people can watch and forget even the greatest movies but something about this ones sticks. Perhaps just the absurdity of it all?

Well, they aren't really getting sucked in, as much as pushing themselves into the moster!

Looks like this will be released August 12 as a part of the Drive-In Cult Classics Volume 2 set:
    http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Cult-Classics-Trish-Devere/dp/B0019D3DF6
I'd rather it have it's own release, as the first Drive-in set, while having a lot of bang for your buck, had mediocre transfers due to the dual side single layer format (two movies per side!).

Personally, I get disturbed by people being eaten and I could see that freaking me out when I was a kid. It's all loud noises, struggling and weirdness.

Anyone ever see the Devilman anime where the human-looking fairy gets eaten by a crab during the opening credits? Creepiest thing I've ever seen.

That whole opening scene is pretty insane. I remember the first time I saw it, I watched that scene over and over again. Now there's something that needs a proper region 1 release (i.e. Japanese language, English subtitles).

I saw it when I was really drunk about ten years ago on VHS. That movie disturbed and scared the hell out of me... then the whole cheese thing kicked in with "I'VE BECOME.... DEVILMAN!!!"

Granted, I'm not much of an anime fan and someone just happened to throw it in when a party was over and only a few drunk people were left behind, hanging out in the living room. The first half hour or so is all really dark and disturbing (especially the intro), so I was pretty gone.

Sounds like you saw the dubbed version. I've never seen it but heard nothing but terrible things about the ridiculous dialogue. I'm not much of an anime fan either, but that Devilman OVA is awesome. I strongly recommend checking out the Japanese language version if you can find it. They used to have decent quality bootlegs on Ebay for cheap but I don't see them around anymore.

Now that we're totally off-topic somebody please take us back.
