Ha! I had the exact same issue when I tried starting the series. I actually finished the first film but had no clue what was going on. So many interchangeable characters that come and go. Its been over two years now sitting on my shelf but I can't muster the patience to start the second one.

It gets compared to The Godfather, but at least The Godfather followed the point of view of ONE family, the Corleones. Had it been the story of say, the Barsinis, we'd see the Corleones as the "enemy".

Battles is like a movie about the Corleones and the Barsinis and their wars without a full explanation of who belongs to what family and what their differences are.

It will be nice to finally see it, I previously purchased the uncut release from holland but unfortunately I had it confiscated by UK border control, if I wanted it i had to go to court to fight for it, so I wrote it and the opportunity has never arisen to see it........till now.

Wow, that sucks. What is the reasoning behind seizing the movie? Also what the heck does the border patrol do with it?

They deemed it offensive and against the law, as I said I could contest it by going to court, but fuck that, chances are slim it's the time as well as costs associated to it.

They noted that if I don't contest they will destroy it, I suspect somebody there had a pretty healthy collection.

My friend also got one of these letters for a different item, what was interesting about his situation is his letter came 2 weeks after he received the item. Ha ha

"deemed offensive" seems like an awfully generic reason. It's totally personal opinion unless there is a banned item list (ala the Video Nasties). I'm sorry to hear that nonsense like this is happening in modern times. Guess I'm lucky I've never had to deal with this type of issue.

To be fair things have changed alot, once James Ferman left the BBFC, censorship relaxed.

This happened a long tine ago, I do however feel if I tried to import it again today the same thing would happen, I remember the sleeve was quite graphic and I believe this would get it stopped, stupid I know!

Is Edge of the Axe worth a blind buy? I saw that Arrow trailer for it and it looked pretty cool. It's a bit on the pricey side on the Arrow Films store so I'm reluctant to get it yet unless I can find it cheaper.

I am new to it, checked out a Vhs rip, and figured it was worth buying. We just watched the Bluray and I still like it. So did she. Nice slip too!

That's always a good sign :D Still, being around $30 is a bit on the high side atm I think. I might have to wait for one of Arrow's sales. Love that new cover art though!

Sometimes fast and sometimes slow in my experience on their previous B2G1 sales. If you definitely need something faster then I probably wouldn't rely on them.
