I ordered BLUE MONKEY. We have history. Being a huge fan of "Killer Party", I would go to my local video store and check this book they had on a counter which told you most movies available on VHS. After finding out who directed "Killer Party", it said "Blue Monkey" was his newest film. I had an ad tucked away in my collection from Variety Magazine called "Green Monkey". Same film, different title, lol. So I call every video store in Reno, NV. to see who has a copy of "Blue Monkey". Find it and rent it several times. In the early days of Ebay, I purchased a new copy on VHS and watched the heck out of it. In recent times, I've been wanting to find another sealed copy but prices were out of my range. Well - here we are. Blu Ray. Yeah...ordered.
Checked out Blue Monkey last night. I had only ever seen a dodgy VHS rip before, so this Blu-ray was a very welcome upgrade. The disc is barebones except for a trailer, but the movie looks good and the glow-in-the-dark cover is pretty nifty as well. For all their irritating shenanigans Dark Force has put out some suprisingly solid releases. It's always good to see more William Fruet on disc, one of the seminal Canuxploitation directors. Now if only someone could rescue Funeral Home from bootleg-DVD purgatory, we've been waiting a long time on that one.
Blue Monkey has to be the most stupid title for a giant killer insect movie. INSECT at least makes sense. That all being said, I wasn't into this film when I finally tracked down a rip of it a few years back.
It's very wholesome. It's like a 50s giant insect movie script that was dusted off and made in the 80s. $35+shipping is way too much, but bundled with the terrific Primal Rage made it a decent deal.
Eek... it sounds like Bill is going to have to get both of his legs amputated. That's pretty horrible, I can't imagine having to go through that.
That’s rough. I watched with the volume down. What’s causing it? My thoughts go out to Bill for sure....
His one leg looks like it has flesh-eating bacteria, It looks black and wasting away I feel bad for him but he most likely brought this on himself with poor diet and no exercise for many years.
Got my order of Primal Rage and Blue Monkey Saturday. Little pricey but I didn't mind as much given I really wanted Blue Monkey.
I just got my order in the mail for this on Saturday afer waiting only 3 weeks. I order alot of stuff and this took unusually long, I know shit is slow right now but I've been getting stuff from all over the country faster than this, Maybe it's because it's coming out of L.A. I know people give this company alot of crap but DF/Code Red did right with these two, solid transfers on both
The weird thing with my order was it "shipped" and then about a week later I did get an email from them asking if I had received it. I said no, and hadn't noticed any tracking number in my USPS Informed Delivery either. They had a website glitch or something, so shipped it the next day then. So kudos to them for that, or I might have been waiting even longer. There was a slight delay of it being delayed in LA at the USPS hub then, but it did get here pretty fast. The Blue Monkey transfer was really good though, watched it last week. I still find that a silly title for the film itself... I mean one of the kids utters it briefly out of the blue? Insect makes far more sense.

RE: Dark Force's release of Death Rage (Con la rabbia agli occhi) https://www.facebook.com/filmArt.homeentertainment/posts/3161402163914351 Edit:
I been thinking of getting blue monkey. Haven't seen that film in decades. Not sure if it will still hold up.
I wish what "cured" those sickened by Blue Monkey would work on Covid-19. Just sayin'. Would be nice, you know?
